TECTUM Twices its bet and commitment on rental
Jun 24, 2020
TECTUM consolidates its commitment to rental housing with the launch of a new company. With the new company it will invest about 240 million euros throughout this year for the development and operation of 1,500 rental houses in the main capitals of the province of Spain.
For this new project we have already taken the first step by closing the acquisition of the first land in the capital. It is a land located in Madrid, in the neighborhood of Butarque (Villaverde district). It has a total area of 5,200 m2, allocated to take in 250 affordable homes for rental.
Public-Private Collaboration
A distinctive feature of the new project, Tectum II, will be its commitment to collaboration with public administrations. “The housing for affordable rent in Spain accumulates years of deficit compared to the countries around us,” explains Alejandra Mora, Director of Investments for Tectum II. Mora assures that “we are therefore facing an exceptional situation, in which an active position of the public administrations is necessary and, in this sense, public-private collaboration can be one of the key tools to achieve a medium, long-term solution for the access to housing crisis ”.
